🌙 Rethinking the Dream?
Howdy Friend!
Did you know that the United States is a Cancer country? Yep, our government was "born" on July 4, 1776.
I thought it would be fund to reflect on just how Cancerian we all are at a collective level since we're moving through Cancer Season and a New Moon in the sign of the crab during the Independence Day holiday. 🦀
Here's just a few ways in which Americans fit the Cancerian archetype to a T:
🍔 Food. It's kind of a big deal — from Thanksgiving memorializing a day settlers narrowly escaped mass starvation to the golden arches or our current broken food system and obesity epidemic. You can't think of America without thinking of food.
🏠 Home. While folks from other developed nations travel near and far pretty regularly, most Americans don't even have passports. Leave the country? Pff? What reason could I possibly have to leave my air conditioned mini mansion?
💪 Sensitivity. I've traveled all over the world and only happened upon one other culture as sensitive as America (sorry France). We beat our chests, drive trucks that look like tanks and wear the toxically masculine mask of "we are the absolute best EVER" to hide a deeply tender heart that fears being hurt.
Obviously, I'm poking fun at America right now by highlighting both its strengths and weaknesses.
A nurturing diet, welcoming home and sensitive heart are all virtues of the Cancer archetype — and Americans can definitely demonstrate these traits admirably.
But culturally, it's also pretty easy to see the shadow expressions. 🔦
And before you say, "Well, I'm not a Cancer, so this doesn't apply to me," think again.
Cancer is the sign represented by the Moon, which is one of the Big 3 in your horoscope. 🌙
So ya, you don't just have Cancer energy — you've got a LOT of this energy. We all do. Of course food, our homes and our emotional lives are core components of all human experience, right?

🔱 Yesterday, Tuesday, July 2 at 3.40am, Neptune went retrograde at the potent 29°.
Neptune is all about dreams, fantasy and idealism. Where do you need to rethink a dream, my friend?
We'll have the next five months to reconsider and reconcile ourselves to seeing areas of our lives with greater clarity (wherever Neptune is transiting your chart, etc).
This is doubly emphasized under the New Moon.
💌 ♌ Shortly thereafter, chatty Mercury moved into romantic Leo at 5.50am for the next three weeks.
Expect your thoughts and communications to be more playful and passionate now. Have fun with this energy, especially since Mercury goes retrograde next month on August 4!
💌 💀 Today, Wednesday, Mercury makes a challenging aspect to Pluto, so keep a close reign on your thoughts and words.
Lord Pluto can bring power struggles and manipulation, as well as big leaps in our growth. You may find this playing out more internally than in external events.
💜 💎 This week, Venus is shining bright! She emphasizes love, money and our values, and she generally brings a gentle approach that's diplomatic and gracious.
🪐 She makes a beautiful trine over to Saturn today, Wednesday.
This is great energy under which to make a new commitment, invest financially or otherwise align with a new value (or your New Moon contemplation!).
🕊️ Shortly after her trine to Saturn, Venus begins another harmonious trine to Neptune.
Romance is in the air! Alternatively, you may find yourself more devoted to spiritual teachings or practices at this time. Regardless, it's a gentle energy that encourages a sweet optimism.
💖 All this week, she's in happy aspect to Mars, her cosmic consort.
When the planetary lovers are working together, we can expect greater harmony in our interpersonal relationships.
Money matters are facilitated with greater ease, and you may find yourself feeling much more aligned with yourself and others now, too.
Definitely set some time aside over the next few days to really feel into the New Moon contemplation and Venus's bright shine.
