Eeeek! Eclipse Season Ain't No Joke!

Welcome to Scorpio Season my friend! Yesterday, we had a juicy and intense New Moon solar eclipse that also involved relationship-crazed Venus.

You're being reminded of the delicate interplay of power in your relationships. It's time to say goodbye to those situations that don't bring out your best self or aren't enhancing your values.

This is especially true in your most intimate relationships, because Scorpio is the sign of Union. It craves deep connection and intimacy. But intimacy can't be had without vulnerability and vulnerability can't be had without safety. 

So Scorpio is a sign that experiences some of the most difficult relationship dynamics, often feeling unloved and unwanted.

In two weeks, we'll have our second eclipse, a Full Moon lunar eclipse in Taurus on Tuesday, November 8.

(That's why astrologers refer to it as "eclipse season" — they always come in pairs or threes.)

My BFF and Oracle Goddess, Robin Finney asks, "What do eclipses signify, how do they impact me and how long is the energy present?"

Whoa! A lot of good questions here. Let's start with, "What do eclipses signify?"

Eclipse season typically coincides with individual and collective growth.

Think of it as your karma or destiny come-a-knocking a few times a year to help you stay on track with your Soul's evolutionary intentions.

Keep in mind that we all feel these energies to varying degrees based on:

• Energetic sensitivity and constitution (so to speak) and

• Where it falls in your personal horoscope

Sometimes planetary events can be far more intense for one person than another, because we're all uniquely activated by the cosmic energies.

Here's some common experiences you might have:

• Premonitions, omens or mystical experiences (I once had a small awakening moment under an eclipse!)

• Unexpected situations in your personal life or on the planet (e.g., falling in love or breaking up; political upheaval or stock market fluctuations)

• Emotional sensitivity that is out of the ordinary for your disposition

>> With that in mind, the following are basic astrological interpretations by lunation.

Solar eclipses, like we had yesterday, can indicate:

• The beginning of a new relationship, experience, project, or cycle and

• Provide opportunities for creative transformation and/or rebirthing that affect

• Your ego or identity, particularly as it relates to your vitality

Lunar eclipses, like the one coming up on November 8, may:

• Reveal matters previously unseen that require your attention

• Result in the culmination of a relationship, project, or cycle

•  Provoke journeys of emotional depth (often related to your Soul's karmic intentions)

There's a few other noteworthy events that are further magnifying the intensity of an already emotional Scorpio Season.

Jupiter retrogrades back into spiritual, groovy Pisces on Friday. What perfect timing! I'm hoping jovial Jupiter will sooth our frayed nerves and help us find meaning in the madness.

On Saturday, chatty Mercury joins the Sun and Venus in penetrating Scorpio, making for sharp and self-reflective conversations and insights these next few weeks.

Mars, the planet of our vital energy, goes retrograde (Rx) on Sunday for 2.5 long months.

Prepare for the inevitable fatigue that comes along with the energy planet acting out of character. Egats. (I've touched on the Mars Rx in previous AstroLogicals and will do so again next week.)
