The Cosmic Trickster in 2023
Well, it's almost here ... the day we've all been waiting for ... MARS GOES DIRECT TOMORROW at 12.56pm PT!
Yassssss.
Whew.
Amen.
We made it!
Ok, now that we've all heaved a collective sigh of relief, let me just remind you that we're in the post-retrograde shadow through mid-March, so it's not all smooth sailing ... yet! But at least the wind will soon be picking up again.
More good news — Mercury ends his retrograde antics one week from today on Wednesday, January 18 at 5.11am PT.
In my years as an astrologer, I've discovered that this frequent transit is misunderstood by a lot of folks.
So I created a video for you that outlines the basics of a Mercury retrograde (Rx).
I answer the question, "What's a retrograde anyway?"
Prepare you for two Rx's in 2023 that are sure to be particularly interesting.
Explain why it's super important not to assume you — or others — are feeling a Rx!
Keep in mind that this year's Mercury Rx's are in earth signs, whereas in 2022, they started in air and retrograded into earth signs.
That means, we'll be feeling them differently because earth and air are not the same element!
Air is mental and tends to be more intellectual and social by nature. Generally speaking, this energy is associated with learning, culture and social progress.
Earth signs, on the other hand, are a denser energy that connect us to physical reality. (Think mountain climbing not warm spring breezes.)
Survival falls into earth's domain: Accumulating resources we value; using those resources wisely; and building durable structures that can prove useful for generations.
Mercury Rx's are typically a time for the "Re" words: reflection, redoing, responding to new information and the like.
It's also a time of important integration — we are being given an opportunity to slow down and process the last three months so that we can use that knowledge to move forward into the next three-month cycle of time (before Mercury goes Rx again).
So this year, rather than focusing on information or other mentally stimulating matters (air), we'll be revisiting situations that involve our most important values and responsibilities (earth).
This week's AstroLogical Forecast!
The Sun in Capricorn is creeping closer to Pluto as of this weekend.
The Sun represents our life purpose and Pluto the transformative element. This energy can play out in many ways, from power struggles with authority figures to deep self-reflective work.
>> Conflict can be used as a spiritual catalyst, so the important question to keep in mind is: "How can I be empowered in any situation, no matter how uncomfortable it feels?"
Venus in Aquarius is squaring off with Uranus in Taurus.
Uranus always brings excitement of some kind — whether it's enjoyed or it's overstimulating. This is definitely a recipe for interesting encounters with strangers of a different persuasion.
>> Venus also represents money, so let's see how it shakes down with finances.
On Friday, the Moon in Libra forms a lovely trine over to Mars in Gemini; on Sunday, the Moon in Scorpio opposes electrical Uranus and squares off with Venus and Saturn.
In short, if you want to be social this weekend, I suggest Friday be your day! You may even encounter romance of some kind.
Sunday? Watch out. The repressed Scorpio Moon may find social situations taxing to her emotional sensitivities. Take a rest day.
>> Financial concerns may arise, as well.
The astrological year is winding down as we prepare to conclude the 10th sign (hardworking Capricorn) — and the 2020 Trilogy.
When the Sun enters innovative Aquarius in 10 days, we'll feel it as a fresh breeze — especially since the Sun will trine Mars in his forward movement soon thereafter.
>> In the meantime, please write me back and let me know how you've managed the Mars and Mercury Rx!
P.S. Wondering what 2023's got in store for you?
